When the Walking Dead was originally released, it had a very low print run. No one knew what it was and there hadn’t been any critical buzz around it. When the TV show hit, there was a big demand for the comic but those early issues were hard to find. To make it easier the first 52 issues of The Walking Dead were reprinted as a weekly series throughout 2011. It’s essentially the same comic, just with the slight change in branding.

For instance I have 2 first print No 10 comics, one is signed by Kirkman and Adlard and the heading says-The Walking Dead, with the issue no. and price on the right hand side, then the other no. 10 says The Walking Dead Weekly with the issue no. and price on the usual left hand side??????

As someone who just got into reading comics a few years ago, I totally understand how intimidating it can be to get started. I’ve found this site to be really helpful to figure out how/what to read. Keep checking back, because there are articles about good jumping on points, where it talks about a new run/story starting which makes it easier to get into a comic.

Also, if you wanted to check out older comics, try searching on here because there might be reading orders that can be really helpful. For example, I was really confused about where to start reading Suicide Squad, because there are a few different #1 issues, and the reading order on here let me know the proper order.
