I caught up with co-writer and artist Jeremy Haun about The Beauty – a comic series set in a world where beauty is an STD everyone wants, but with a horrible consequence – to find out a bit more about it. I also asked him about the process of creating the comic and an interesting piece of marketing for the series.

ODY-C has been slowly become one of the most anticipated and cosmicly surreal series coming out of Image Comics. Written by Matt Fraction (Hawkeye, Sex Criminals) and art by Christian Ward (Infinite Vacation), ODY-C is a psychedelic, gender-bent, science fiction adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey. Its time for the Twelfth Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, to make his debut in comics with Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor #1. Written by Robbie Morrison and art by Dave Taylor, this new Doctor Who series is an interesting story which fans of the new Doctor will enjoy.
Transport yourself to the 24th century with Copperhead by writer Jay Faerber, artist Scott Godlewski and published by Image Comics. Copperhead is no ordinary science fiction series, mixing elements of western in a similar vein to Firefly. It is also one of mystery, not only with the female protagonist, Clara, but also with the community that surrounds her. Take a look at a preview of this new series inside.
Through big action, character moments, humour and even politics, Brian Michael Bendis and an array of wonderful artists give the series a solid start. Working as a great introduction to the team and its members, this release is a great place to start for those interested in this galactic team.
Writers Al Ewing and Rob Williams, along with artist Simon Fraser, bring a series that is true to the Matt Smith rendition of Doctor Who while bringing their own personal touches. Whovians will be very happy with Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor #1, which is full of touching moments, humour and a new companion. And for those who are still unsure I have included a preview.
Written and illustrated by the wonderful Skottie Young, Rocket Raccoon #1 looks like it will be a fun series that will be full of action and humour. Set in a world where Atlantis is a superpower, Undertow tells the story of a group of Atlantians who have set themselves free from the system. I was luck enough to have a chat with the writer – Steve Orlando – and chatted about world-building, the grey elements that come along with fighting for freedom and the appeal of setting a story set underwater.
