Earlier in the week Wacom, the graphics tablet market leader, released Pressure/Sensitivity: An Awesome Comics Anthology. This anthology includes an interesting mix of stories under the theme of pressure and sensitivity. Did I mention it’s free?
ODY-C has been slowly become one of the most anticipated and cosmicly surreal series coming out of Image Comics. Written by Matt Fraction (Hawkeye, Sex Criminals) and art by Christian Ward (Infinite Vacation), ODY-C is a psychedelic, gender-bent, science fiction adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey. Recently a prologue for this issue was made available online and it is pretty amazing. Click to read it here.
With Halloween later in the week I thought I would share some of the great horror and Supernatural comics that are freely, and legally, available to read. This list of free horror comics has a lot of variety with large range of different kinds of scares. There are vampires, demons, zombies, swamp creatures, home invaders and even Batman. Just don’t blame me if you can’t sleep at night.
Celebrate Batman Day with these free Batman Comics. There are a great mix of comics here from Batman’s very first appearance to comics based off the classic television series Batman: The Animated Series. Also included in this list are stories by some of the greatest names in comics such as Neil Gaiman and Brian Bolland, just to name a few.
I have a look at the free comic Tangled Weeds, a science fiction survival story by Lee Milewski. Can a scientific expedition find what they are looking for or will they fall prey to the horrors of the alien world. I also take a look at the Kickstarter campaign, which if successful, will collect this series in print form.
We showcase some fantastic creations made on 24-Hour Comics Day! From science fiction and to slice of life there are many different genres represented. Which one is your favourite?
I have a look at the The New Yorker cartoons, letting you know what they are all about, highlight some of my favourites and how you can read them for free.
In this edition I look into two comics that are a lot of fun for everyone of all ages in the form of FCBD Top Shelf Kids Club. Both these comics are full of fun stories and lively character that will have kids wanting more.
