Marvel Comics launched two Captain America series in 2022. One focused on Steve Rogers. The other features Sam Wilson. In these comics, both characters embody the mantle of Captain America in their own way, with each taking their own path to do so – until now.

Sam and Steve’s comics are crossing over in Captain America: Cold War. This crossover event is the culmination of the first year of stories of this era of Captain America and is likely to set up year two.

The two heroes, plus a supporting cast like Misty Knight and Sharon Carter, will come together to tackle a threat that’s looking to use Dimension Z to its nefarious advantage. However, will Sam and Steve be able to get along long enough to save the day?

Comic book crossover events can be confusing. Luckily, this Captain America: Cold War reading order is here to save the day. It has everything you need so you don’t miss an issue, plus background reading and other helpful details.

  • I would also recommend Devil’s Reign Winter Soldier #1 as that is where Kelly and Lanzing start writing Bucky and the keyword for the codes in the back of the comics begins.

  • Thanks, great info! I\’m reading both the Sentinel of Liberty and Symbol of Truth, but I didn\’t know there was an issue #0, so I\’ll have to pick that up. I\’m greatly enjoying both series.
