Forever Young: Celebrate 80 Year Of Archie Comics With Us

By 0 Comments

If you think about it, it’s surprising that Archie, a comic book about teens that started in 1941, is still around today. Beyond some big-name heroes, it’s rare to see any comic book character last this long. But to the credit of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and the rest of the Riverdale gang, they’ve endured and evolved throughout the decades. In fact, they’ve not only kept up with the times but have been a reflection of it.

While the characters are perpetually teenagers, they’re actually turning 80 years old this year. How to Love Comics is using this as an excuse to celebrate, with articles all year! We’ll explore Archie’s history by looking at the characters, classic and odd-ball stories, creators, concepts, and heaps more. Along for the ride will be the occasional guest writer, who will give their own take on Archie comics.

As the pals and gals of Riverdale never age, I’ve decided to call this celebration “Forever Young”.

It’s okay if you’ve never picked up an Archie comic before. Hopefully, you’ll soon see why they’ve been enjoyed for eight decades, with no end in sight.

We hope you can join us!

New pieces will be available throughout the year. Take a look below to find everything that has been published so far.

And for those wondering, yes, the title is inspired by the Alphaville song of the same name. If you’re Australian, like myself, then you might be more familiar with the Youth Group cover.
