When Miles Morales was introduced in 2011, it was hard to dismiss him as simply a Spider-Man derivative. While he might have similar powers, the Afro-Latino teen had his own struggles and personality. As a result, he soon found his place in the Ultimate Universe and then later in the regular Marvel Universe. In recent years, Miles’ popularity has only increased thanks to his inclusion in the excellent Into the Spider-Verse movie and Playstation games.
Are you looking to read all of his comics? Well, you’ve come to the right place! This simple reading order has all the details you need to get started and makes sense of all the similarly titled collections, with plenty of notes along the way.
Happy reading!
What is the Ultimate Universe?
Before we start this reading order, it’s worth explaining the Ultimate Universe. It’s one of the infinite alternate universes in Marvel’s Multiverse, which was home to the Ultimate line of comics and where Miles Morales originated.
The Ultimate Universe was created in 2000 at a point in time when Marvel’s regular universe had gotten too tangled in its own continuity and was written in a way that required too much prior knowledge. So they created a fresh universe, that was a little more grounded, that new readers could jump into.
Miles was a character that debuted after the death of the Ultimate Universe Peter Parker heroically died. He’s also one of the best and most well known characters to originate from it.
Where can I find Miles Morales’ comics?
You can find the comics and collections that are listed below at all good comic book stores, online stores, eBay, and digitally on Comixology/Amazon and Marvel Unlimited.
