Fans of the Buffyverse can all agree on two things:
- Buffy is a bad-ass Slayer
- It’s bad news if the Hellmouth is opened.
In the first comic book event of Boom Studio’s modern re-imagining of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the gates of the Hellmouth are wide open and the Scooby Gang must take on whatever comes out of it. But they won’t be completely alone. Angel will be involved too and will do anything to make sure it’s closed.
Comic book events can be confusing. Luckily, The Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel: Hellmouth Reading Order Checklist is here to make things as easy as possible. Read on to find out everything you need to know including the recommended reading order, release dates, background reading, and much more.
Where Can I Buy Buffy Comics?

Do I Need To Read The Dark Horse Comics?
It is not necessary to read the Dark Horse comic book series as the comics under Boom Studios are part of a rebooted timeline.
Do I Need To Read The Tie-Ins?
Tie-ins add extra dimensions to the story, telling it from the perspective of specific characters or show events from behind the scenes.
It’s totally up to you if you want to skip them. The main story will be told in Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel: Hellmouth #1-5 so you won’t miss anything important. But if you’re enjoying the event and want even more then the tie-ins are worth exploring.

Hey, thanks so much for providing this! I already collect all the series monthly, but I fell behind on picking them up at my LCS. I just bought them all on Sunday and had no idea where to start for the Hellmouth storyline, so this is very much appreciated!
