For the past decade, Bioware’s Dragon Age franchise has become one of the biggest fantasy series in the gaming world. With a mix of dark fantasy that’s inspired by Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy and George R. R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series, Dragon Age has been able to set itself apart from everyone else through its inclusion of human drama, even if not every character is human. The result has been strong sales performance and critical and fan acclaim.
While the next Dragon Age video game is in the works, it appears that it won’t be coming out any time soon. Luckily, for fans of the franchise who want to revisit the world of Thedas, there are many comics to fill that Dragon Age shaped hole in your life. Dragon Age has had a strong relationship with comics, with in-canon stories about some of the fan-favourite characters. Even better is that many of these have had writers from Bioware involved.
This simple guide will give you all the information you need to know about the Dragon Age comics, so you can jump right in and enjoy the game’s world in this wonderful medium.
