Ever since they got the licence in 2015, Titan Comics has been releasing Doctor Who comics to please every kind of fan. While they have focused mostly on the modern incarnations, they have also touched on the classic doctors as well, and in a short period of time have amassed an impressive library of comics to enjoy.

With so many comics, it can be a bit daunting to figure out what to read and where to start. But don’t worry, this handy-dandy guide is here to help! Similar to the Star Wars guide, the Doctor Who guide shows all of the comics available and the easiest way to read them.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a long-time fan or a more recent one, you’ll be able to get into the comics as easy as The TARDIS travels space and time.

A quick note before we dive into the guide: Titan Comics regularly releases Doctor Who comic books and graphic novels, so this guide will be updated every few months to stay current.

Which Doctor Who comics should I read?

With comic book stories based on most interpretations of the Doctor, there are plenty of options. But ultimately, it’s all up to you. Every fan has a favourite doctor, so start with your favourites and work your way through them. Just like a season of the TV show, each comic book series is self-contained. As a result, you don’t need to read any other Doctor Who comics to understand them.

Just like each of the Doctors in the TV show, each of the comics has its own unique flavour.

What’s the deal with the year grouping?

When going through the guide, you’ll see that there are some comic book series that some of the collections are grouped by year. These are made to be like seasons of a TV show and you can easily start with any year in the series.

I’m not familiar with Doctor Who. Can I read these comics?

Yes! If you’re not familiar with Doctor Who, don’t worry. Each collection has a catch-up and character guide at the start. This makes it simple to start reading without any confusion.

Where can I find Doctor Who comics?

You can find Doctor Who comics anywhere good comics are sold. This includes the following:

Most comic book stores will stock the single issues and trade paperbacks. They’ll be able to order them in for you if they don’t have them in stock.

Additionally, Doctor Who comics can be found at online stores, digitally on Comixology, the BBC Shop, and eBay.
