In the wake of Dark Nights: Metal, Scott Synder has taken over the Justice League comics to much praise of fans and critics alike. So far it has been big, ambitious, and a lot of fun. Now he’s taking it up a notch with a huge story that will focus on Aquaman and Wonder Woman called Drowned Earth.
Long-forgotten sea gods plan to flood the surface world and turn everyone into sea monsters. While Batman, Superman and the Flash are focusing on that problem, Aquaman must face Black Manta or lose his connection to the ocean forever!
Due to the way this storyline is structured, I’ve put together the Justice League/Aquaman: Drowned Earth Reading Order Checklist. In it is all the information you need to know so you don’t miss out on the action. It contains not only the reading order, but also creative teams, release dates and more.
Enjoy!

Background Reading
Wondering what to read before diving into Drowned Earth? This is what I can recommend:
Justice League #1-8
Written by Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV. Art by Jim Cheung, Jorge Jimenez.
Justice League #1-8 is not essential reading, but there likely will be subplots from these comics that will carry through Drowned Earth.
If you haven’t read these, don’t worry, you’ll still be able to understand what’s going on in the main story.

After Drowned Earth
Once the Drwoned Earth is done and dusted, these are the comics you should read:
Justice League #13 onwards
Written by Scott Snyder. Art by Guillem March.
Justice League #13 continues the ongoing story that Scott Snyder is telling Justice League. The solicitation doesn’t specifically mention Drowned Earth, but if you enjoyed the story then it’s a good place to continue.
Aquaman #43
Written by Kelly Sue DeConnick. Art by Robson Rocha.
Available from December 12th.
This is the start of a new run (and creative team) on Aquaman which will explore his origins and spin out of Drowned Earth. It’s a good place to start if you want to read more Aquaman.
