The Inhumans and X-Men are at war! For the past year, Marvel has been building the tension between the two groups. It all started when the Terrigan Mist was released on Earth. The mist is the source of life for the Inhumans, transforming a select few into Inhumans with amazing powers, but for the X-Men it’s seriously deadly. So, as you can see, both groups are at loggerheads with each other.
This tension will all spill over into Inhumans Vs X-Men (also known as IvX), a 6-part miniseries which will see the conflict come to a head. Which group will come out victorious? You’ll have to read to find out.
If you haven’t been paying attention to the comic book news or solicitations crossover events such as this can be confusing to follow. To make reading easy I’ve put together the Inhumans Vs X-Men Reading Order Guide. This includes a list of all the issues involved, tie-ins, creative teams, release dates and more.
Happy reading!
Do I Need To Read All Of The Tie-Ins?
The quick answer: No.
The longer answer: You don’t have to if you don’t want to. The tie-ins are side stories which follow certain characters and what they are doing during the main comic story.
You can pick and choose which ones you want to read. For instance, if you are only interested in the X-Men side of the stories you can read the X-Men related ones, or vice versa with The Inhumans. I have placed the tie-ins into the list to show where they relate to the main story.
If you only read Inhumans vs X-Men #0-6 you will get a full story.

Death of X
Death of X is a 4-part miniseries set roughly eight months before Inhumans Vs X-Men which shows how the tensions between the X-Men and Inhumans began. It is a good primer for Inhumans Vs X-Men as it involves many of the same characters and writers. If you’re interested in seeing where the tensions between the groups began this 4-part miniseries is a good place to start.
Is it essential to read this before Inhumans Vs X-Men. I’m going to say no, as Inhumans Vs X-Men #0 and #1 should bring you up to speed with everything you need to know going forward.

ResurrXion
When Inhumans Vs X-Men concludes the landscape of the X-Men and Inhumans communities will be very different. As a result, both groups comics will be changing. Many will come to an end and being replaced with new comics which reflect the current situations of these characters.
This line of new comics is known as ResurrXion.
I’ve written a handy guide about these comics which explains each of the titles, creative teams and other helpful information. You can read it here.

I don’the know what I’d do without this site. Spot-on reading orders every time, unlike other sites, and it keeps me from getting annoyed trying to figure it all out myself.
Glad I could help, Mike!
Thanks for the great reading order resource.
I read Death of X and Inhumans v X-Men. I’m definitely sucked in for Resurrxion.
