24 DC Comics Jumping On Points For October 2016

By 0 Comments

For some time now I have had a regular column which points out the new jumping on points for new Marvel Comics coming that month. I point out new series and comics starting new stories so new readers can find places to read the sometimes complicated comics universe. But why should Marvel have all the fun? I’ve decided from this month that there should also be a DC Comics equivalent!

From brand new series launching out of the Young Animal imprint; series launching on the tail-end of the Rebirth initiative; a stack of new miniseries and new stories of current series, there are heaps of new places to start reading DC Comics in October. 24 places to be precise.

Along pointing out the comics I’ve added the solicitation text, creator credits, covers and other things to help you take the dive into DC Universe.

All of these will be available at any good comic book store, Comixology or the DC Comics app.

New Series

Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye #1 cover by Michael Avon Oeming.

Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye

Written by Gerard Way and Jon Rivera. Art by Michael Avon Oeming.

Solicitation Text:

Cave Carson has done it all: survived countless adventures below the Earth’s surface, met the love of his life, and gotten a cybernetic eye…somehow. After he and his wife, Eileen, sent their only daughter Chloe off to college, Cave was ready to become just another mundane member of the surface world. That is, until Eileen got sick. Newly widowed, Cave tries to piece his life back together when a knock on the door of his secret underground lab pulls him back into a past that he and Eileen thought they had left buried deep within the Earth.
Adding to his troubles, Cave must determine if his recent hallucinations and visions are the work of his mind or his mysterious cybernetic eye. (Spoiler: It’s the eye.)

Written by Gerard Way (DOOM PATROL, Umbrella Academy) and Jon Rivera (Heartbreak), and illustrated by Michael Avon Oeming (Powers), this is an absurdist action-adventure story unlike any other!
