I know that this is going to sound incredibly obvious, but Star Wars is massive. It’s huge, not only at the box office, but in the merchandise, and scope of its fictional universe too. It’s expanded into everything from video games, novels, and RPGs that explored the different corners of the world with some of your favourite characters and new ones too.

Marvel Comics are doing their part to give you your Star Wars hit with their series of Star Wars comics which capture the essence of Star Wars through various eras and characters of Star Wars history.

What’s even better is that Marvel has made a conscious effort to put some of their best writers and artists on these books, making them quality reads. Throw in the fact that all of these comics are part of official Star Wars canon and it’s no wonder they’ve been some of the publisher’s biggest selling comics.

If you haven’t had a chance to read any of Marvel’s Star Wars comics, then the Ultimate Guide To Marvel’s Star Wars Comics is the guide for you. It will give you all the details you need to start reading Marvel’s Star Wars comics. I’ve tried to make it as easy and helpful as possible by splitting it up into ongoing titles, miniseries and also different periods in the Star Wars timeline so you can find the right fit for you.

This guide will be updated regularly with new information when it comes to hand. If you see any information that’s wrong or needs updating, please let me know in a friendly manner and I’ll make sure to fix it right away.

Why Only Marvel’s Star Wars Comics?

This guide only includes the new Marvel Star Wars comics. This doesn’t include any Star Wars comics from the 1970/80s, this cool Korean webcomic, those published by Dark Horse Comics, or the subsequent reprints from Marvel under the Legends banner.

This is because only these Marvel Comics below are considered canon by Lucasfilm and Disney after the shuffle of the cleaning of the Expanded Universe slate.

Where Can I Buy Star Wars Comics?

You can find Star Wars Comics at any good comic book stores, online stores, eBay, digitally Kindle Comics and Marvel Unlimited.

You can find out more about these outlets in my guide to where you can buy comics.

Is There A Reading Order To These Star Wars Comics?

Not really. Each comic is set in a certain era in Star Wars history and as a result, you can pick comics from your favourite era. Each miniseries is self-contained so you can jump right in.

All you really need to be familiar with are the movies themselves. If you’re a Star Wars fan then you’re probably well across them.

  • Hi Trevor,

Just wondering if you are planning on updating the page anytime soon?

    Keep up the great work!

    Thanks!!!

  • Hi Trevor,

Just wanted to show my gratitude. I’ve been following this guide almost from the start and I’m still refreshing this page every few weeks waiting for updates.

I hope it will be getting updated!

Nonetheless, great work and thank you again!

    • Het Filip, I just updated the guide. There wasn’t a lot to add because COVID stopped the Star Wars comics for a chunk of 2020. The other thing I have done is add a navigation so you can quickly find the era you’re looking for.

  • Hey Trevor!

I really appreciate what you’re doing here! It’s a noble effort to compile all of this into a comprehensive list, and to keep it updated for as long as you have nonetheless. I’ve been using your list for some time now and you should definitely keep it up! I’m sure there are others like me who appreciate what you’re doing just as much.

Just thought I’d say something. Thank you!

    • Thanks Owen! I’ll definitely be updating when there are new series/trade paperback releases.

  • Thank you for this great list. I’ve just used it to check if my own collection is up to date (it is).

Also in my collection is Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir. I think that one was originally published before 2015, but it was republished within the current run so I personally count it as canon. Perhaps you could dedicate a page to special cases like this?
