Green Lantern: Godhead Reading Order Checklist

Green Lantern: Godhead Reading Order Checklist

By 12 Comments

The Green Lantern franchise loves a crossover. They seem to happen on a regular basis. Although, this crossover seems to be huge as the Green Lantern Corps are forced to go up against literal (New) Gods. After the events of Lights Out, in which the barrier of the universe were breach and secrets of the universe were stolen, the leader of the New Gods, Highfather, is desperate to do the same. In order to do so, he is attempting to collect one of each power rings of the emotional spectrum. Based on the image above, it looks like part of his plan this is all part of his plan to try to defeat Darkseid, who is an evil New God and general DC Universe big bad. Due to this, the events of this crossover might have ripples throughout the DC Universe later in the future.

In typical Green Lantern fashion, this crossover involves all the titles in the Green Lantern family and will run weekly throughout October, November and December. Each month is an act in the narrative, which means that this story looks to be quite large. Due to it’s connection to the New Gods franchise Infinity Man and the Forever People will tie-in with this crossover. Although, this seems to be an optional read but could be interesting if you want to read another perspective in the conflict.

  • So I bought Godhead in hardcover now I just missing the Infinity man and the forever people tie ins. When I buy a event like this I want it all, even if the tie in aren’t that important.

  • This is really late to the discussion….but I’m thinking about reading Sinestro. Can I read Sinestro 1-10 on its own without worrying about the tie-ins, or will I be completely lost?

    Thanks.

    • Probably skip anything that ties-in to a crossover as those issues are chapters of a larger story. You could always read the wikipedia entry on Godhead if you don’t want to read it.

      • Yeah, after Blackest Night (which was awesome) GL was kind of jumping the shark. Liking that you’re finally getting a good look at the New Gods
