For almost the past year Batman has been set in the past with the Zero Year storyline that sees Batman in his early days. Although this month, instead of going into the past, the series jumps forward six months for what has been dubbed a “spoiler issue.” Writers Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV and artist Dustin Nguyen will give readers a taste of what can be expected in the upcoming series Batman Eternal.
What is Batman Eternal? Announced at NYCC, Batman Eternal is a weekly Batman series that will have big ramifications for Gotham City and those who are sworn to protect it. Batman Eternal begins in April and will involve a host of rotating creators, including the creative team for Batman #28.
While it has been dubbed a “spoiler issue”, I believe that it will be only giving away a small amount of what can be expected in Batman Eternal. Also what ever they do spoil they most likely wont be explained in detail, which will likely create much speculation among readers. So if you do pick up this issue I would highly suggest paying close attention as I am sure it will be littered with clues.
Batman #28 is available in all good comic book stores and digitally from February 12th.
