PREVIEW: Batman #21: Year Zero

Batman #21 Year One Cover by Greg Capullo

When people are asked to name a comic book character often the first they would name is Batman. Not only has he had a successful string of movies and animated series, he also stars in multiple comic books. Although the problem with starring in multiple comic books is that it hard to figure out which on you should read. This week Batman #21 makes that quite easy with the Year Zero storyline, which aims to retell the Batman origin in ways that have not been explored yet. As it is an origin story, Batman #21 is a great place to jump on if you have ever wanted to read Batman.

Written by Scott Snyder (Detective Comics, Swamp Thing and American Vampire) and pencils by Greg Capullo (Spawn and X-Force), Batman: Year Zero is expected to be the big Batman storyline of the year.

Batman #21 also includes a backup which will explore the dangers of Gotham City. This will be written by James Tynion IV (Red Hood and the Outlaws and Talon) with art by Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire).

If that is not enough to sweeten the deal the cover (above) will be embossed.

Batman #21 is out June 12th in all good comic book stores and digitally.

If you are still not quite sure here is a preview thank to the New York Post.
