In a world where humanity is at war with flesh eating monsters known as ghouls, a young boy is about to be thrust into the middle. After almost being killed by the girl he likes when she turns out to be one of these ghouls, Kaneki is transformed into a half-ghoul using her organs and he must learn how to remain human while haunted by an unending hunger for flesh.
In what could be seen as a rip-off of Fist of the North Star, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a globetrotting, over the top, manga which has only found appreciation in the West recently. With Halloween later in the week I thought I would share some of the great horror and Supernatural comics that are freely, and legally, available to read. This list of free horror comics has a lot of variety with large range of different kinds of scares. There are vampires, demons, zombies, swamp creatures, home invaders and even Batman. Just don’t blame me if you can’t sleep at night.
Through horror, humour, tragic romance and action Nightworld follows the sad demon Plenilunio who makes a risky bargain in order to reconnect with lost love. Usually we are not meant to sympathise with demons, but through this four issue miniseries published by Image Comics this could easily be the case. Take a look at a preview inside.
I have a look at the free comic Tangled Weeds, a science fiction survival story by Lee Milewski. Can a scientific expedition find what they are looking for or will they fall prey to the horrors of the alien world. I also take a look at the Kickstarter campaign, which if successful, will collect this series in print form.
Grandfather of the zombie genre, George A Romero, continue his “Of The Dead” series in comic form with Empire of the Dead #1. The series looks to shake up the formula he originally invented by giving zombies new facets, while also introducing vampires into the mix.
